  >> Facts of Yoga

Fact #1

Yoga is not a religion. Yoga is a science of life. A natural way of maintaining your health developed 7,000 years ago, before Hinduism, Buddhism, etc..was founded. Yoga is holistic, which covers development in every positive way and definitely not a religion!

Fact #2

Yoga has a systematic and progressive way to help you improve your flexibility.

Fact #3

Yoga is for all ages, young and old. Anyone who wants better health will find the time to practise Yoga. It is a matter of priority.

Fact #4

Due to the popularity of Yoga, many people have jumped on the band wagon of teaching Yoga. A properly trained and professional Yoga teacher will take care your condition and teach you a progressive system to help you improve your health.

Fact #5

Yoga has benefited people for thousands of years, even before the 'Yoga Wave'. If it were a passing fad, many people would not have practised Yoga for a major part of their life (a good example is Theresa Hsu who is a living centurion yogini and started Yoga at the age of 67)

Fact #6

There is more to Yoga than just asanas. Astaunga Yoga as formulated by Patajali in 100 B.C. 'Asta' means 8; 'aunga' means limbs. Therefore Astaunga Yoga means  'The 8 limbs of Yoga'.  Therefore practicing only asanas means that you are only 1/8th of the 8-limbs.
